Objective: To seek microstructure characters and method of insect material medicines.
Method: Insect material medicines and Chinese patent medicines containing these medicines were observed and compared with OLYMPUS.
Result: The texture of integumentary cells, the shape and size of hair socket and bristle were important characters for species identification.
Conclusion: This method can effectively identify 8 insect medicines, which provides some data and foundation for Chinese patent medicines' identification containing insects medicines and making quality standard for new drugs.
