1996 human immunodeficiency virus update for the primary care provider

Nurse Pract Forum. 1996 Mar;7(1):16-22.

Abstract

Rapid development and changes in the care of patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection will continue, bringing challenge to the nurse in advanced practice (APN) to keep up with those developments. The demand for APNs to provide primary care to many of these patients will be high. By creating working relationships with experts in HIV, APNs will be able to implement these improvements into their clinical care in an expeditious and effective manner.
