[Article in Afrikaans]

Abstract

The tensor fascia lata (TFL) myocutaneous transposition flap was used for reconstruction of large groin defects in 11 consecutive patients who had had radical inguinal or ilio-inguinal block dissection as palliation for advanced secondary nodal cancer. Good groin coverage was achieved in all cases with lower than expected operative morbidity. Excellent palliation was also achieved in 72% of patients.
