Abstract

The Clinicopathologic features of tumor-like lesions of the liver in 38 cases have been reviewed. The characteristics of the lesion are as follows: 84.2% of the patients with tumor-like lesion are males; Lesions are mainly located at the right lobe of the liver (73.7%); In general, the patients are younger, in average age of 40.5 years. Alphafetoprotein (AFP) level is normal. The pathologic morphogenesis demonstrated benign changes without cirrhosis background. Tumor-like lesions of the liver ought to be distinguished from malignant tumors of the liver. It is pointed out here that adenomatous hyperplasia of the liver is an important precancerous lesion. It is necessary to follow-up the patients. Needle biopsy of the liver should be done to make a correct diagnosis if necessary.
