Abstract
New lanosterol and 27-norlanosterol oligosaccharides were found in the bulbs of Chionodoxa gigantea. Their structures were established mainly by extensive 2D NMR analysis as well as by comparison with spectral data of known compounds. The inhibition of cyclic AMP phosphodiesterase by the lanosterol derivatives was assayed as the primary screening test to find new medicinal materials.
