Abstract

Objectives: The present study reports on a case of paraganglioma of the urinary bladder and briefly reviews the literature.

Methods/results: The patient presented with gross hematuria and no history of hypertension. The pathological findings were diagnostic of paraganglioma of the urinary bladder.

Conclusions: Extra-adrenal pheochromocytoma is uncommon. Although it usually presents with typical symptoms, these are also determined by tumor location. Currently, there are no anatomopathological criteria to distinguish the benign from the malignant form.
