Abstract

"Dysphagia" is a common symptom that represents a differential diagnostic challenge. The systemic recording of the symptoms in the form of a patient questionnaire can: 1) shorten the time required for a swallow-specific anamnesis, 2) be helpful in choosing a differential diagnosis by assigning the symptoms to the corresponding physiological phases of deglutition, and 3) support the decision to initiate any further specific investigations.
