Abstract

The AP-1 family member BATF maintains immune cell function. Two recent papers by Zhang et al.¹ and Itahashi et al.² investigated the role of this protein in cancer immunity, finding that its depletion in CAR-T cells augments anti-tumor activity and it contributes to Treg-mediated immunosuppression in the tumor microenvironment.
