Diethyl 4-(1 H-imidazol-2-yl)-2,6-dimethyl-1,4-di-hydro-pyridine-3,5-di-carboxyl-ate

Abstract

In the title compound, C₁₆H₂₁N₃O₄, the 1,4-di-hydro-pyridine ring adopts a flattened boat conformation, with the imidazole substituent in an axial orientation [dihedral angle between ring planes = 82.9 (6)°]. In the crystal structure, pairs of N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds with graph-set notation R ₂ ²(14) connect the mol-ecules into chains running along the c-axis direction.
