Clinical depression in paediatric burn patients

Burns Incl Therm Inj. 1987 Jun;13(3):213-7. doi: 10.1016/0305-4179(87)90169-0.

Abstract

Two hundred and eighty-six patients admitted to a paediatric burn unit over a 5-year period were investigated for rates of depression. Race, burns to the buttocks and/or genitals were associated with significantly increased rates of depression. The data also suggest that abuse victims may have a higher incidence of depression then other burned patients.
