Abstract

  1. We explored postmortem TDP-43 burden and antemortem hippocampal surface deformation.

  2. TDP-43 was uniquely associated with inward deformation in the hippocampus.

  3. Deformation patterns account for co-existing disease showing TDP-43′s unique effect.

  4. Deformation was significantly correlated with cognition scores.
