Molecular characterization of chicken astrovirus from high embryonic mortality, based on the capsid protein (ORF2) gene, in Brazil

Avian Pathol. 2022 Oct;51(5):457-464. doi: 10.1080/03079457.2022.2098691. Epub 2022 Jul 26.

Abstract

CAstV infections were found in farms and incubators with increased embryo mortality.Brazilian CAstV Biv strains were associated with white chick syndrome.Antigenic peptides were predicted on the surface of the capsid protein.

Keywords: Chicken astrovirus; antigenic prediction; embryo mortality; low hatchability; molecular characterization; white chick syndrome.
