Abstract

Efficient generation of tissue-resident memory T (T_RM) cells is essential for long-lived immune protection in barrier tissues. Peng et al. now show that the costimulatory molecule ICOS enhances CD8⁺ T_RM cell lodgment by promoting early tissue retention.
