Abstract

Professor ZHENG believes that the interaction of internal factors and external factors leads to qi and blood obstruction on muscle surface and skin, thus eczema occurs. This disease is classified into 3 types, i.e. invasion of damp heat, spleen deficiency and damp retention, and blood deficiency and wind dryness, corresponding to acute stage, sub-acute stage and chronic stage successively in western medicine. The treatment principle refers to "regulating qi, detoxification, removing stasis and tonifying for deficiency" in Zhuang medicine. In local skin lesion, surrounding acupuncture, medicated thread moxibustion and lotus-needling and cupping for removing stasis are adopted. Regarding holistic regulation, acupuncture is applied to the points around the umbilicus and traditional acupoints to regulate qi, tonify deficiency and balance zangfu functions.
