Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) is the fourth most common disease of the macula after age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusion and a cause of irreversible visual loss. This article gives an overview of the epidemiology, risk factors, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, multimodal imaging and discusses current therapeutic options for CSC.
Die Chorioretinopathia centralis serosa (CCS) ist nach der altersbedingten Makuladegeneration, der diabetischen Retinopathie und dem retinalen Venenverschluss die vierthäufigste Erkrankung der Makula und eine Ursache für irreversible Sehminderung. Diese Arbeit gibt einen Überblick über die Epidemiologie, Risikofaktoren, Pathophysiologie, klinische Präsentation, multimodale Bildgebung und diskutiert die aktuellen Therapiemöglichkeiten der CCS.
