This guideline applies to adult patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The objective of this guideline is to improve the quality of care for patients with COPD by providing a framework for management and treatment of mild to moderate acute exacerbations, and to improve symptoms, quality of life, and lung function while reducing morbidity and mortality.
