Clinical Diagnosis and Histopathologic Features of a Synthetic Fiber Granuloma

Abstract

The authors report a case of a synthetic fiber granuloma to demonstrate the challenges in diagnosing these lesions and to highlight their histopathologic features. This is the first report in the literature to use histopatho-logic and immunofluorescence studies to characterize the subtype and distribution of macrophages in synthetic fiber granuloma.
