In the present paper, a new species of Strongylium Kirby, 1819 (Tenebrionidae, Stenochinae) is described and an updated checklist of the species present in the Philippines is provided. Agymnonyx caesarea Kulzer, 1951, Sphenolampidius hemisphaericus Kaszab, 1941, Stenothesilea cylindriformis Kulzer, 1951 Tetragonomenes crenata (Gebien, 1921) and Tetragonomenes tibialis (Kulzer, 1951) are rediscovered and illustrated for the first time; Atasthalus spectrum Pascoe, 1871, Scotaeus corallipes Hope, 1834, Simalura subopaca Kulzer, 1952 and Strongylium cultellatum Mäklin, 1867 are recorded as new for the fauna of the Philippines.
