The use of loperamide in high doses has been associated with a significant increase in morbidity and mortality. This activity reviews the indications, contraindications, activity, adverse events, and other key elements of loperamide abuse related to the essential points needed by members of an interprofessional team managing the care of patients with toxicity and its related conditions and sequelae.
