Mercaptopurine is a medication used in the management and treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It is in the class of medications known as purine antagonists. This activity reviews the indications, action, and contraindications for mercaptopurine as a valuable agent in treating and managing leukemias and inflammatory autoimmune disorders.
