Abstract

Transplant coordination forms part of advanced practices with the nurse coordinator being recognised as having specific expertise in this area. In haematology, she is an essential link in the pre-allograft pathway, providing support to both the patient and the donor, as well as in the coordination of each of the stages and of the professionals involved. These are new competencies which offer nurses stimulating perspectives for expressing all their organisational and relational talents.
