Geriatric Nursing Sensitive Indicators and quality nursing care for the older person: a scoping review protocol

Abstract

The objective of the scoping review is to locate and describe the international literature relating to Nursing Sensitive Indicators (NSIs) and their use in evaluating geriatric care. Specifically the review question is: What definitions and key concepts of NSIs are identified in the current literature that are relevant in evaluating nursing care of the older person?Findings from the review will inform future research and health care responses to support the provision of quality nursing care to the older person.
