Abstract

Excitation transfer from ¹BODIPY* to bisstyrylBODIPY followed by electron transfer to C₆₀ leading to a charge separated state of appreciable lifetime in a supramolecularly assembled triad is demonstrated, as a mimic of the photosynthetic 'antenna-reaction centre'.
