Open surgical retrieval of an embolized PFO occluder system

Vasa. 2017 Jul;46(4):310-312. doi: 10.1024/0301-1526/a000620. Epub 2017 Feb 20.

Abstract

Device migration after intervention for persistent foramen ovale occlusion is a rare complication. In case of failure of endovascular device retrieval, open surgical removal is indicated, safe, and reliable.

Keywords: PFO occluder system; Patent foramen ovale (PFO); complication; vascular surgery.
