Intravascular hemodynamics and coronary artery disease: New insights and clinical implications

Hellenic J Cardiol. 2016 Nov-Dec;57(6):389-400. doi: 10.1016/j.hjc.2016.11.019. Epub 2016 Nov 25.

Abstract

Intracoronary hemodynamics play a pivotal role in the initiation and progression of the atherosclerotic process. Low pro-inflammatory endothelial shear stress impacts vascular physiology and leads to the occurrence of coronary artery disease and its implications.

Keywords: Acute coronary syndromes; Atherosclerosis; Endothelial shear stress.
