Abstract

In this issue of Molecular Cell, Fu et al. (2016) present a detailed structural analysis of death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) assembly and regulation through flexible caspase-8 interactions with cFLIP_L, cFLIP_S, and the viral inhibitor MC159, thereby identifying novel apoptosis control mechanisms.
