Abstract

Structural and functional MR imaging techniques play an important role in the modern assessment of neuropsychiatric disorders. Applications of MR imaging are reviewed for several types of mental illness. Morphometric MR imaging, functional MR imaging, and diffusion tensor MR imaging all make unique contributions to the evolution of basic understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness.
