Objective: The aim of this article is to provide general practitioners (GPs) with information related to the identification and management of individuals with BDD, especially males.

Discussion: Diagnostic features, clinical presentation and screening tools for BDD are discussed. Recommendations for appropriate treatment and support are also supplied.
