Abstract

The author discusses psychological and ethical aspects of dying under conditions of hospitalization. He submits suggestions for the psychological personality training of a member of the attending staff for the encounter with the dying patient. He emphasizes the psychic adaptation of the attending staff by recognition, acceptation and a favourable influencing in relation to reality, to the subject himself and the dying patient.
