Radiation efficiency of damped plates

J Acoust Soc Am. 2015 Feb;137(2):1032-5. doi: 10.1121/1.4906186.

Abstract

The radiation efficiency of damped plates is discussed in this letter. Below the critical frequency of a plate, numerical results show that the radiation efficiency is much influenced by damping. Some modifications of the classical formulas given by Cremer for an infinite plate and Leppington for a finite rectangular plate are proposed to include the influence of the damping on the radiation efficiency.
