Abstract

A new flavanone, 5-methoxy-pinocembrin-7-O-β-D-glucoside (1), together with six known compounds, quercetin-3-O-β-D-xyloside (2), quercetin-3'-O-α-L-rhamnoside (3), quercetin (4), pinocembrin-7-O-β-D-glucoside (5), pinocembrin (6), gallic acid (7), were isolated and identified from the aerial parts of Penthorum chinense. Compounds 2 and 3 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
