Calcium signaling: septins organize the SOC channel

Curr Biol. 2013 Aug 19;23(16):R684-5. doi: 10.1016/j.cub.2013.07.042.

Abstract

Store-operated Ca(2+) entry is a widely encountered mechanism for generating cytoplasmic Ca(2+) signals. From a whole-genome screen in HeLa cells, a new study reveals that cytoskeletal septins play a critical role in this process, by organizing signaling structures in the plasma membrane.
