In order to refute the reported relationships between reminiscence and other organismic variables, Peters (1972) denies the existence of individual differences in reminiscence. His conclusions are based upon the factor analysis of Eysenck's (1960 a,b) data from a one-group study featuring multiple rests on a motor task. Present results from a traditionally designed single rest experiment indicate that the rest produces a reliable alteration in the pattern of individual differences. Criticisms of the single group, multiple rest design are offered along with some methodological suggestions for those who would relate individual differences in reminiscence to other organismic variables.
