Recurrent metastatic colon cancer to the breast: coincidence or metastasis?

Bol Asoc Med P R. 2012 Sep-Dec;104(4):61-3.

Abstract

Metastatic tumors to the breast from colon adenocarcinomas are very rare. They are indicative of disseminated disease, so their prognosis is poor. In such cases radical operation should be avoided unless for palliation purposes. Partial mastectomy with chemotherapy is adequate therapy and offers the patient an aesthetic and oncologically safe surgical procedure. We report the first case of recurrent breast cancer metastatic from a colon adenocarcinoma after review of the literature.
