This report provides an update on recent emergency room visits and hospitalizations for ATV-related injury in the United States, drawing on data from the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) and the Nationwide Emergency Department Sample (NEDS) for years between 1993 and 2009. The report focuses on the age and geographic distribution of ATV injuries and on the time trends in the number of ED visits and hospitalizations for ATV injuries and their associated costs.
