Objective: To analyse the lipid-soluble components of Amomum villosum fruits by GC/MS.
Methods: Lipid-soluble components in pericarps and seeds of A. villosum were extracted by Soxhlet extraction. The Lipid-soluble components were esterified and then analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
Results: Twenty-five and thirteen compounds were identified in pericarps and seeds of A. villosum, respectively, mainly including fatty acids and their esters.
Conclusion: The results indicate that it is highly potential and significant to exploit its value in foods, medicines and healthy care.
