Abstract

We describe the prevalence of congenital heart disease in a suburban hospital. In fifteen months we visited 270 infants and we diagnosed 59 congenital heart disease (21.9% of examined population). Diagnosis of congenital heart disease in 63.8% occurred after the first month of life; 36.2% during the first month. In this group we found ethnic difference in rates of congenital heart disease.
