The mol-ecule exists in a trans configuration with respect to the central methyl-idene unit. In the crystal, the benzohydrazide and methanol mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the a axis.
