The industrial sites in Gorki Province, USSR, is characterized by the prevalence of dust-induced bronchopulmonary diseases as the major ones in the occupational morbidity structure. A set of measures contributed to a 87% decline in the morbidity rate in the last 22 years, and the ratio of this kind of pathology decreased from 57% to 24%. The development periods for the pathologies increased, while bronchitis predominated among the nosological forms.
