Abstract

Ultrasmall nanowires of rare-earth fluoride were prepared via an oriented attachment growth for the first time, and the formation process and the role of the capping ligand were discussed. Furthermore, as a luminescence host, they showed higher emitting intensity with Eu(3+) doping.
