A review of three cases of Clostridium aldenense bacteremia

Anaerobe. 2010 Oct;16(5):475-7. doi: 10.1016/j.anaerobe.2010.08.004. Epub 2010 Aug 26.

Abstract

Three cases of Clostridium aldenense bacteremia are reported. C. aldenense is also associated with intra-abdominal infections and closely resembles Clostridium clostridioforme and therefore may be misidentified. C. aldenense may be a more frequent pathogen than appreciated and is generally fluoroquinolone resistant.
