Abstract

It is not easy to describe the contribution of psychoanalysis and child psychoanalysis to child psychiatry. Though they both have the goal to help the psychologically disturbed child they differ greatly regarding their areas of responsibility and their scientific basic assumptions. Nevertheless one cannot overlook important influences, which, though, may vary according to different local conditions. In this paper the author tries to do justice to the different levels of this problem.
