There are some controverces regarding alcohol intake and gastritis.
Aim: To investigate the effect of chronic alcohol intake on development of gastritis and their interrelationship.
Material and methods: The study was conducted of 1566 patients of urban and rural Dorohoi areal (alcohol consumers), during the 2002-2006.
Results: The prevalence of chronic alcohol gastritis has statistic significant difference along the years. The alcohol intake was recorded in the age group 40-50 years, in urban patients. In most patients (59%) alcohol intake was daily, the quantity used more frecquently 150-200 mL.
Conclusion: Chronic alcohol consumtion induce the apparition of gastritis, in correlation with the consumption, ritmicity and alcohol amount.
