Ever since the use of adult stem cells in the field of tissue repair and regeneration, their clinical effects, possible mechanisms and side effects have been questioned. In this article, I review the clinical application of adult stem cells, especially mesenchymal stem cells in functional recovery of skin, acute myocardial infarction and vascular diseases, etc. Meanwhile, I express my personal opinion on their use in the future.
