The paper deals with R. Virchow's main contribution to the formation of today's pathology, to the development of a fundamentally new view of disease as one of the life manifestations, which is in the development of a chain of further interrelated structural and functional changes (a pathological process), the basis for which is the same physiological mechanisms as in the healthy organism.
