[Recommendations for surgical treatment of nonsmall cell lung cancer]

Abstract

The seventh edition of TNM classification of lung cancer is due to be published this year. It is based on studies with a database which contains almost 68,000 patients. The changes will involve a reassessment of treatment algorithms and would improve the alignment of TNM stage with prognosis. This article wishes to present some controversial aspects of the surgical treatment of lung cancer, in order to be able to offer to our patients the best management of this dreadful disease.
