We developed a computerized analyzing system for masticatory muscle electromyograms (EMGs), parameters of which were burst-duration time, muscle activity and electromyographic power-spectrum density during mastication. The system was tested with healthy subjects to evaluate the fatiguing process and found to work satisfactorily. It may find applications in other neuromuscular systems where control mechanisms and/or coordination is of interest.
