Both the anion and the cation in an ionic liquid play prominent roles in determining hypergolic properties as well as ignition delay times. With the 2,2-dialkyltriazanium cation, salts with nitrate, chloride, nitrocyanamide, and dicyanamide anions are hypergolic.
