Based on the results of sociohygienic monitoring, the authors give an integrated hygienic assessment of chemical and microbial contamination of water sources, drinking water, the sanitary state of water pipes, and risks for diseases in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The changes occurring in 2001-2005 in the parameters of domestic and drinking water supply have been ascertained to be transient processes. Associations and quantitative dependences have been established between the content of barium, the microbial contamination of drinking water and the rates of a number of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Hygienic criteria and indicators for substantiating varying preventing measure programs are proposed.
