Population pyramid changes have made it necessary to adopt new social-sanitary policies which include efficient operation methods in administration and management. The Nursing Case Management is one example of these new policies. This article reviews the main theoretical concepts for a model of sanitary care using case management and analyzes scientific evidence regarding its efficiency.
